Double Barn Wedding – Tasha & Josh

Tasha & Josh’s Double Barn Wedding in Lydney | A Rainy Day Full of Heart

Tasha & Josh’s wedding at Double Barn in Lydney was the perfect example of why weather doesn’t define a wedding — people do. From emotional moments under the canopy to bubble confetti in the rain, a VW camper adventure in the Forest of Dean, and a dancefloor absolutely buzzing with energy, this intimate celebration had everything. A day full of laughter, family, and completely unforgettable moments.

Where is Double Barn?

Bridal Prep in Upper Lydbrook — Calm, Cosy & Full of Family

Tasha got ready at her parents’ home in Upper Lydbrook, a beautiful little village overlooking the valley. With her mum, sisters and soon-to-be sister-in-law by her side, the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and full of all the usual excitement.

We were joined by videographer and friend Wedding Story Films, capturing the morning alongside me. There’s something special about brides getting ready at home — the familiarity, the nostalgia, the soft pre-ceremony buzz. Tasha’s morning had all of it.

Although Tasha & Josh were already legally married, their ceremony at Double Barn was beautiful, heartfelt and meaningful — led by a celebrant and surrounded by the people who matter most. The rain was relentless, but honestly? Nobody cared. With everyone tucked under the canopy, it had a warm, intimate feel — like a story unfolding in real time. The kind of ceremony that reminds you what weddings are really about.

Bubble Confetti Tunnel — Rain-Proof and Full of Joy

Since the weather wasn’t playing along, we swapped traditional confetti for a bubble tunnel, and it was PERFECT. Guests lined up under shelter as Tasha & Josh walked through clouds of bubbles — colourful, chaotic and ridiculously fun.

The photos from this moment are some of my favourites from the whole day.

A VW Camper Escape Into the Forest of Dean

After the bubble confetti fun, the four of us — Tasha, Josh, myself and the videographer — jumped into a VW Combi van and headed into the Forest of Dean for portraits.

It was torrential rain at this point. Not drizzle. Full, sideways, soaking rain.

And you know what?
It made the portraits even better.

Moody woodland colours, soft light, a couple fully embracing the chaos — we created some absolutely gorgeous, dramatic images together.

Back to Double Barn — Cosy, Rustic Vibes & Heartfelt Speeches

When we returned to Double Barn, the guests welcomed the couple back into a beautifully decorated space — rustic wooden beams, warm lighting, stunning florals and thoughtful details everywhere.

The wedding breakfast rolled straight into speeches, all heartfelt and personal. Rain hammered the roof outside, but inside it was cosy, atmospheric and full of emotion.

A Break in the Weather — Perfect Timing for a Drone Shot

Miraculously, the rain paused just long enough for us to get everyone outside for some drone group photos. A quick window of dry weather — and we absolutely made the most of it.

Candid Moments, Big Moves & A Dancefloor That Delivered

My candid game was strong at this wedding — real laughs, emotional reactions, beautiful quiet moments and plenty of chaos.

When the evening kicked off, the dancefloor went wild. Everyone joined in, the atmosphere was electric, and even I ended up being photobombed in one of the final selfies of the night. A perfect end to a perfect, rain-soaked, joy-filled day.
