About Tetbury
Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, Tetbury is a charming and historic wool town known for its quintessentially English appeal. This small but incredibly picturesque town is a treasure trove of architectural and natural beauty, nestling amidst rolling green landscapes and meticulously preserved tradition. Tetbury is renowned for its 17th and 18th-century buildings, royal connections, and well-kept, traditional English gardens. Much of its prosperity is linked to its reputation as an important market for Cotswold wool and yarn in the Middle Ages. Besides its heritage, Tetbury is also celebrated for its thriving arts and antiques scene, with numerous antique shops and dealers scattered throughout the town, attracting enthusiasts from far and wide. Furthermore, it hosts first-class events such as the Tetbury Music Festival and the popular Woolsack Races. Another connected landmark is Highgrove House, the private residence of Charles, The Prince of Wales, located just outside Tetbury. Local produce and products can be found at the bustling Tetbury Goods Shed, a local farmer’s and craft market. This quaint English town successfully marries historical charm with modern convenience, making Tetbury a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike.
