The History of Manor By The Lake
Manor By The Lake, located in the picturesque town of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, boasts a rich history that spans over a century. The Manor, originally known as ‘Arle Court’, was constructed in the beautiful Victorian Gothic style in 1854 by renowned architect Samuel Daukes. For several decades, the mansion was inhabited by the affluent Harford family who were prominent in British social circles. In 1904, the manor underwent extensive renovations under the stewardship of Sir George Dowty, an illustrious aviation engineer. It was during Sir George’s era that the property acquired its lovingly maintained Japanese gardens, rich wood panelling, and elaborate plaster ceilings. Post Dowty, the Manor was graced by various illustrious owners until it was refurbished as an exclusive wedding venue in 2013. Today, Manor By the Lake is adored for its tranquil setting with its beautifully restored interiors and picturesque seven-acre gardens, serving as an idyllic backdrop for momentous occasions. I take great pride to subtly merge into your day and to be approachable for all your guests. The Cotswolds is an area I grew up in and I am all too familiar with everything the region has to offer.
What products do you offer as a Manor By The Lake Wedding Photographer?
This can bespoke based on your needs. All packages include a digital gallery in which you, your family and friends can enter with a password and download to any device. On top of this, you can also purchase prints, framed goods and albums through the digital gallery. If you would like me to build you an album, I offer an additional album package as well. Other bits, should you wish to choose them, include a pre-wedding shoot in the cotswolds or a second photographer for your wedding day.
How long do you stay with us for our Manor By The Lake wedding?
I’m an all day photographer and will be with you from roughly two hours before your ceremony until at least the first dance ( and beyond – got to catch all those drunk friends cutting some shapes on the dancefloor!).
