Matt & Holly’s Autumn Wedding at Lakeside Weddings at Maisemore Court

Matt & Holly’s October wedding at Lakeside Weddings, Maisemore Court had everything — wild weather, warm autumn colours, a confetti moment courtesy of Storm Amy, and the most gorgeous golden-hour portraits by the lake. From a heartfelt ceremony at St Stephen’s Church to a rustic, homely reception at Maisemore Court, the day was full of emotion, laughter, and plenty of personality. The perfect autumn celebration in the heart of Gloucestershire.

As a Gloucestershire wedding photographer who regularly shoots across the Cotswolds and beyond, Maisemore Court is one of those venues that always delivers something special.

Bridal Prep at Holly’s Family Home

Holly spent the morning getting ready at her parents’ home, which is currently mid-renovation — exposed walls, unfinished rooms and all. It actually created a beautifully honest, documentary-style backdrop. She was joined by her mum and her lovely bridal squad, keeping the atmosphere relaxed, personal and full of laughter.

Holly also dried all her own flowers, including her bouquet and bridesmaids’ arrangements. The burnt oranges and soft neutrals were perfect for an early October wedding, giving the whole day a warm autumn feel.

A Stormy but Beautiful Ceremony at St Stephen’s Church

Matt and his groomsmen were already waiting at St Stephen’s Church in Cinderford when I arrived — all in great spirits despite the chaos of Storm Amy blowing outside. The church was warm, full, and brimming with excitement. When Holly walked in, the whole room lit up.

Their ceremony was heartfelt and emotional, surrounded by friends and family. And then… the confetti moment. Storm Amy turned it into a full-on confetti explosion — swirling, flying, and honestly one of the most fun confetti runs I’ve ever captured.

Lakeside Weddings at Maisemore Court — The Perfect Autumn Venue

After the ceremony, everyone headed to Lakeside Weddings at Maisemore Court, one of Gloucestershire’s most unique countryside wedding venues. The rustic stretch tent, marquee space and large lakeside lawn create the perfect setting for relaxed, personality-filled celebrations.

Matt & Holly styled everything themselves — warm burnt oranges, dried florals, candles and natural textures. The whole space felt cosy and homely, exactly how they envisioned their autumn wedding.

Golden Hour Magic by the Lake

Storm Amy eventually calmed down, and by late afternoon the skies cleared completely. We took the whole bridal party down to the lakeside lawn for some fun, energetic group shots — cold, windy, but absolutely worth it.

Then came the golden-light moments. The lake at Maisemore Court turns a stunning turquoise shade, and with the evening sunshine behind them, Matt & Holly’s portraits looked unreal. Soft, warm, romantic — everything you want from an October wedding.

And yes… I even got the drone up.

A Dancefloor That Absolutely Went Off

As the evening rolled in, the marquee transformed into the perfect party space. The dancefloor was packed from the first song — full of shapes, sweat, and some seriously committed dance moves. A proper Gloucestershire wedding party, fuelled by joy and good vibes all night long.
