Summer wedding at Ellenborough Park Hotel – Olivia and Eddie
Wow! What a day this was for the wedding of Olivia and Eddie in June at the simply stunning Ellenborough Park Hotel, which is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. This venue offers so much as not only a hotel for an unbelievable getaway but, as a wedding venue it is just perfect in my opinion and being my most local venue (only four minutes away) it is always a pleasure to capture weddings here. Add in to the mix a really lovely couple as Liv and Eddie are and I knew this was going to be a great wedding day and one I was very excited to be a part of.
The day started with Liv’s bridal prep in one of many of Ellenborough Park’s lovely rooms. Liv and her bridal team were extremely chilled out and were enjoying having their hair and make-up done up and applied. The vibe in the room was very relaxed, chilled and all was calm. The bathroom offered some fantastic natural lighting for certain shots you will see below, it’s amazing but some of the best light comes through bathroom windows, due to the way bathrooms are decorated etc.
The wedding ceremony itself was at a very traditional church close by – St. Nicholas Church, Ashchurch, Tewkesbury. The church had a sentimental significance to the groom and it always makes a wedding that little more special when the bride and groom have direct personal connections. After the “I do’s” and the first kiss, we all gathered outside where Liv & Eddie got plastered with confetti – always fun! From there we all headed back over to Ellenborough Park to enjoy their outdoor space and function room.
The weather was great all day (besides a 30 minute stint of rain, but hey-ho, this is the UK!) With the weather being so nice, it meant that all the guests could enjoy their welcome drinks outdoors. The group shots were done on a platform that Ellenborough Park have creatively structured and this makes for a fun session, offering a really pretty backdrop. After the group photos, all guests were sat down for the wedding breakfast with speeches read out also. The speeches were short and fun, and featured a few video guest appearances from Sir Geoff Hurst and Sue Holderness (who played the beloved Marlene in Only Fools and Horses) which went down really well.
After food, I took Liv & Eddie away for some shots and the landscape that is on offer at Ellenborough Park set’s you up for some fantastic opportunities – I hope you think so to looking at the photos below.
This all led in to the first dance, which saw me on the lively dancefloor snapping away until the last song – Lean back! Great fun and a fantastic wedding! Enjoy the pics below – at the bottom of the page is also a slideshow.
