Most couples say their favourite part is the Hayloft—bright, spacious, and full of rustic charm, it’s the perfect spot for a ceremony. The barn itself has a lovely mix of traditional and modern touches, from exposed brick walls to sparkling chandeliers, giving the whole place a timeless feel. There’s also a sleek bar area and a private courtyard, ideal for taking a moment to soak it all in after the ceremony. For overnight stays, the Hay Loft Cottage on site is perfect for newlyweds wanting privacy and modern comfort, and if you need more rooms, there are plenty of hotels and cosy B&Bs just a short drive away. This beautifully restored 18th-century barn started life as part of Lapstone Farm, working as a mixed-use farm at the heart of local agriculture. In the 1950s, it became a hub for local craftspeople, producing high-quality handmade goods, and by the 1990s it was a well-known craft shop that drew visitors from all over who loved traditional Cotswold crafts. Through all its changes, the barn’s original stone structure and rustic charm have been carefully preserved. Then in 2017, a major restoration transformed it into the wedding venue we know today—a place that blends old-world character with modern touches. Now, couples can enjoy all the contemporary services they need for their ceremony and reception, while still soaking up the barn’s rich history. How long do you stay with us for our Lapstone Barn wedding?
I’m an all day photographer and will be with you from roughly two hours before your ceremony until at least the first dance ( and beyond – got to catch all those drunk friends cutting some shapes on the dancefloor!).
