The History of Stone Barn

Established amidst the picturesque beauty of the Cotswold Hills in Aldsworth, Gloucestershire, the Stone Barn has a rich and fascinating history. The venue is a part of the Cripps & Co family, renowned for creating extraordinary countryside wedding venues across England. The exceptional rustic charm of Stone Barn is derived from its authenticity; it was originally built as an agricultural building in the early 19th century. Featuring Dutch barns and split-levels, the venue was designed meticulously to support grain storage and housing for various livestock. After standing idle for several years, it captured the attention of the Cripps family in the late 20th century who saw its potential as an extraordinary wedding venue. The Stone Barn underwent extensive restorations, juxtaposing modern comfort with rustic aesthetics. Today, it retains its historical character while offering state-of-the-art facilities. Its uniqueness lies in its capacity to host intimate and grand weddings alike, with a stunning open kitchen, a large dining room, and serene outdoor spaces. Having hosted hundreds of memorable weddings over the past two decades, Stone Barn is steeped both in the tranquility of Gloucestershire’s countryside and the joy of countless love stories.

Picking your Stone Barn Wedding Photographer- why Pedge Photography?

Besides the fact that you are getting a highly professional, experienced, and creative photographer who will capture all of the special moments of your wedding day, family and friends, you are getting someone that goes in to each wedding knowing that every couple is unique and that all weddings deserve their own twist and personality, rather than be provided a conveyor belt experience. I take great pride to subtly merge into your day and to be approachable for all your guests. The Cotswolds is an area I grew up in and I am all too familiar with everything the region has to offer.

What products do you offer as a Stone Barn Wedding Photographer?

This can bespoke based on your needs. All packages include a digital gallery in which you, your family and friends can enter with a password and download to any device. On top of this, you can also purchase prints, framed goods and albums through the digital gallery. If you would like me to build you an album, I offer an additional album package as well. Other bits, should you wish to choose them, include a pre-wedding shoot in the cotswolds or a second photographer for your wedding day.

How long do you stay with us for our Stone Barn wedding?

I’m an all day photographer and will be with you from roughly two hours before your ceremony until at least the first dance ( and beyond – got to catch all those drunk friends cutting some shapes on the dancefloor!).

Will you travel beyond the Cotswolds for our wedding day?

Of course! Although I describe myself as a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I am happy to travel beyond. Drop me a message to find out more!
