The History of The Kingscote Barn

The Kingscote Barn in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, is a historically significant wedding venue steeped in rich tradition and timeless charm. Constructed in the 17th century, the barn forms part of the Kingscote Estate, a large farmstead covering about 325 acres that once played a vital role in the local agricultural community. Its spectacular stone architecture is a testament to traditional Cotswold designs, which lend it a timeless, picturesque appeal. The barn functioned as a working farm until it was left impassable in the early 20th century. However, its destiny changed in 2006, when it was lovingly restored and transformed into a wedding venue by the Matara Centre. Prized for its rustic yet elegant aesthetic, its features like the oak-beamed roof and sprawling private gardens have made it an incredibly popular choice for couples seeking a venue with historical character and idyllic beauty. The Kingscote Barn continues to evolve and thrive, offering bespoke and tailored services that retain the venue’s historical roots, while catering to the refined tastes of modern weddings. This iconic venue intertwines old-world charm with contemporary luxury, thus ensuring a unique wedding experience within a slice of Gloucestershire’s history.

Picking your The Kingscote Barn Wedding Photographer- why Pedge Photography?

Besides the fact that you are getting a highly professional, experienced, and creative photographer who will capture all of the special moments of your wedding day, family and friends, you are getting someone that goes in to each wedding knowing that every couple is unique and that all weddings deserve their own twist and personality, rather than be provided a conveyor belt experience. I take great pride to subtly merge into your day and to be approachable for all your guests. The Cotswolds is an area I grew up in and I am all too familiar with everything the region has to offer.

What products do you offer as a The Kingscote Barn Wedding Photographer?

This can bespoke based on your needs. All packages include a digital gallery in which you, your family and friends can enter with a password and download to any device. On top of this, you can also purchase prints, framed goods and albums through the digital gallery. If you would like me to build you an album, I offer an additional album package as well. Other bits, should you wish to choose them, include a pre-wedding shoot in the cotswolds or a second photographer for your wedding day.

How long do you stay with us for our The Kingscote Barn wedding?

I’m an all day photographer and will be with you from roughly two hours before your ceremony until at least the first dance ( and beyond – got to catch all those drunk friends cutting some shapes on the dancefloor!).

Will you travel beyond the Cotswolds for our wedding day?

Of course! Although I describe myself as a Cotswolds wedding photographer, I am happy to travel beyond. Drop me a message to find out more!
