Pauntley Court, a breathtaking wedding venue in Newent, offers an unparalleled blend of history, natural beauty and sophisticated elegance. The court plays host to indoor and outdoor ceremonies. The ballroom can hold up to 120 guests, whilst the private chapel, dating back to the 13th-century, adds a unique sense of allure. The venue provides exclusive use for 24-hours, offering seven luxurious, unique double bedrooms designed with a distinct vintage charm, and can accommodate up to 14 overnight guests. Moreover, the bridal suite offers breathtaking views of the Malvern Hills. Additional facilities include a snug bar, and a main reception room with a grand piano, creating a cosy ambiance. The property is surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna, notably an old Mulberry tree assumed to be planted by John Kyrle for Queen Elizabeth I’s silk dresses. The History of Pauntley Court
Located in Newent, Gloucestershire, Pauntley Court is an enchanting wedding venue steeped in history and splendour. The venue, blessed with a radiant elegance, dates back as far as the 14th century with links to the Plantagenet Kings via the family estate of Dick Whittington. Over the years, it has seamlessly blended old-world charm with modern-day luxury. The original manor house is said to have been rebuilt in 1848, retaining much of its original features, including stained glass windows, striking arches, and illustrious staircases. It impeccably blends Elizabethan design with Geometric style. In addition, fans of folklore and history will love the Whittington Church nestled within the grounds, the final resting place of Dick Whittington’s mother. In the 21st century, Pauntley Court has been transformed into a premier wedding venue, offering breath-taking surroundings, refined accommodation, and a variety of versatile spaces for ceremonies and celebrations. Its exquisite landscaped gardens and majestic architecture perfectly showcase the venue’s historical grandeur, providing an idyllic backdrop for unforgettable photographic opportunities. Pauntley Court thus continues its rich history, providing memories of a lifetime for couples and their guests.
